Case Study, Healthy Living Magazine, May 2004

Natalie Turner, 26, a researcher from Middlesex was keen to try Kinesiology to help her relax and combat sporadic abdominal bloating caused by stress. ‘I didn't really know anything about Kinesiology but hoped it would alleviate tension and help me to relax more’.

Joy, my practitioner was really nice and made me feel instantly at ease. She started by explaining about Kinesiology and then asked me lots of questions covering all areas of my life and my past. Next there was a diagnostic section where she tested my muscle responses. I sat opposite her in a chair and she lightly pressed down on my arms to test my muscle reactions when she asked me certain questions. She said she was looking for emotions which may have caused imbalance and therefore my tenseness. She also touched my head. She identified I had feelings of stress and panic stemming from the past. It was extraordinary as my muscles were answering her questions for me! I was sceptical but I could see my muscles reacted differently to different questions.

Then Joy used some treatment techniques. She said there about 400 in all. She showed me some that I could practice on myself to re-establish a smooth energy flow and gave me some flower essence drops to take. Joy recommended I have at least three sessions to have maximum benefit.

Natalie’s verdict – ‘I felt really calm and relaxed afterwards’.
